Ton Hannink was president of the International Clematis Society (IClS) from 2008 to 2015. He was the breeder of many named clematis and was well known for a program of crosses with unusual and rare species. He was an excellent speaker and wrote many articles for the International Clematis Society and others. Ton died in November 2021, at the age of 74, after a long battle with cancer.
